People are interested in people, and we love looking at each other. But it’s rare that we really get to look – to stare – and see past the surface into the depths of another person. Adam Magyar’s Stainless series lets us do just that. Shot with a high-speed camera from moving trains, Magyar’s videos capture everyday people in the simple act of waiting. Look closely and you can see some movement, which just adds to the mystery and depth. My assistant, Brett Walker, showed this to me and paired it with the perfect song, a haunting version of  “Once Upon a Dream” by Lana Del Ray.
